National Summer Learning Association

Using research-based approaches and models of effective practice, the National Summer Learning Association strives to connect and equip schools and community organizations to deliver quality summer learning programs to our nation’s youth to help close the achievement gap.

The Association, in partnership with the Children’s Aid Society and the Asia Society, has developed All Over the World, an engaging, multi-disciplinary curriculum for use in summer learning programs across the country. The curriculum takes students on an interactive journey through different countries, teaching them about the history, geography, and culture of each nation. In addition to building global awareness and social skills, the curriculum reinforces key literacy and mathematics skills and concepts.

To support providers using the curriculum, the Association is currently developing an online professional development opportunity.  Providers will learn how to effectively implement the curriculum and connect with others across the country who are using the curriculum across the country.  Visit their website to learn more:  www.summerlearning.org.
