From July 7 to July 11, Global Kids conducted the first Global Citizenship After School (CGAS) Training Institute. The program brought together 20 youth workers and teachers to learn about ways to incorporate a youth development approach and international affairs content into their work. Participants met with a variety of experts on international affairs, engaged in workshops on a range of issues, such as Global Citizenship and Environmental Sustainability, and attended Global Kids' programming over the summer, so that they could see firsthand Global Kids' work with youth. Feedback from the program was highly positive and Global Kids is looking for ways to further improve and conduct the program again in the future.

"The biggest strength was the content. It's great that educators will be going back to their sites and getting more and more kids globally
aware of important issues. I think that our world will benefit from Global Kids and if it could be accessible to more educators, we'll have a brighter future."

"A huge strength, as the name implies, is to connect, to foster the need to connect local, national issues to the global lens."

"I appreciated the tone, energy, flexibility, variety of activities, current event content, diverse participants, and staff."

"This inspired me to be more action oriented in my personal life and in the work I do with students."
